Overview

The Department of Architecture at Siddaganga Institute of Technology (SIT) was established in 1992 and has since evolved into a center of excellence for architectural education. The department is housed in a dedicated building with state-of-the-art facilities, offering a conducive learning environment for students to explore the world of design, construction, and architecture.
Currently, the department offers a 5-year B.Arch program, and the intake capacity is 40 seats. The curriculum is designed to integrate modern technological advancements with a deep appreciation for aesthetic and cultural heritage.

Program Details

Duration: 5 Years

The Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) program is divided into two stages:

  • Stage 1: First to Sixth Semester
  • Stage 2: Seventh to Tenth Semester, which includes Architectural Project Work and Professional Training for two semesters.
Completion of both stages is mandatory for registration under the Architects Act, 1972.

The Department of Architecture is equipped with modern facilities:

  • Studios: Spacious studios with individual locker facilities for students.
  • Computer Lab: 40 systems with broadband internet and architectural software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.).
  • Climatology Lab: Instruments for measuring light, sound, temperature, humidity, wind speed, and rainfall.
  • Model-Making & Art Workshop: For hands-on learning.
  • Library: A specialized reference library with over 500 volumes of architecture books and access to over 1,000 architectural books from the main library.
  • Photographic Equipment: Video cameras, SLR cameras for student projects.
  • Plotters & Printers: A0 HP plotter, A4 color printers, and laser printers.
