About

Club of Robotics, SIT (CORSIT) is the official robotics club of Siddaganga Institute of Technology. Members work on hands-on projects aimed at solving real-world problems, fostering practical learning, interdisciplinary thinking, and technical excellence across embedded systems, control systems, artificial intelligence, and robotics.

Affiliated with e-Yantra Cell, IIT Bombay

CORSIT operates under the esteemed patronage of e-Yantra, IIT Bombay’s initiative to spread education in Embedded Systems and Robotics — providing students access to a national network of mentors, challenges, and resources.

Active domains

Objectives

CORSIT is built around five core aims that guide the club’s activities, events, and project portfolio throughout the year.

Promote hands-on learning —

enable students to apply theoretical engineering knowledge through design, fabrication, and programming of robots.

Develop technical skills —

embedded systems, sensors & actuators, control systems, and robotics programming (Arduino, ROS, Python, C/C++).

Encourage innovation —

motivate students to design and build novel robotic solutions for real-world engineering and societal problems.

Promote interdisciplinary collaboration —

bring together students from Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, and AI disciplines.

Prepare for competitions —

train and mentor students to participate in national and international robotics competitions, hackathons, and technical fests.

Signature Events

CORSIT runs four recurring events throughout the academic year — from project showcases and skill workshops to a national-level symposium and a hackathon.

A showcase platform where CORSIT members present their projects to fresh students — inspiring the next generation of robotics enthusiasts.

Hands-on skill-building sessions that provide foundational and advanced robotics training to students across departments.

The club’s signature national-level symposium — a multi-event robotics competition bringing teams from institutions across India.

Projects Carried Out

CORSIT members have built and shipped seven projects spanning hardware robotics, autonomous systems, AI, and web/app platforms.

ROS-Controlled Robotic Claw

A robotic arm controlled using ROS for precise and coordinated motion. Implements the ros2_control framework with MoveIt2 to achieve real-time joint position control and smooth servo movements.

Gyro-Based Self-Balancing Robot

A two-wheeled self-balancing robot using PID control. An MPU sensor measures tilt and angular velocity, processed by an ESP32 to generate corrective motor commands for real-time closed-loop balance.

Campus Surveillance Robot

A manually controlled long-range surveillance robot using RF communication. Equipped with an onboard camera for real-time visual monitoring — suitable for security and remote inspection applications.

Centralized Voice Assistant for Lab

A voice-controlled assistant that automates laboratory appliances — supporting voice commands for device control, task execution, and information retrieval for hands-free lab management.

AI-Enabled Autonomous Robotic Assistant

An intelligent autonomous robot powered by AI for perception, decision-making, and navigation. Integrates sensors and ML algorithms to operate independently and adapt to dynamic environments.

CareConnect App

A digital platform bridging donors and social organizations. Enables secure donations, real-time contribution tracking, and impact visualization — showing users how their support creates meaningful change.

Factify — Guardian Against Misinformation

An AI-powered fake news detection system with up to 96% accuracy. Uses multimodal analysis combining natural language processing and computer vision to identify misleading and satirical content.
